Sautéed Swiss Chard with Tomatoes


Only 15 minutes and delicious.

Ingredients:

  • 8oz (240gr) chard - Swiss chard - In CSA)

  • 3 green onion (In CSA)

  • 1 tomato - In CSA

  • 2 cloves garlic - In CSA

  • handful fresh basil leaves - In CSA

  • 2 tsp olive oil

Instructions:

  • Prep:

  • Wash the chard.

  • Stack the leaves together and fold over, the long way. Slice into thin strips, about 1/2" (1cm) using both leaves and stems. If the stems have some thickness, cut away and stir-fry with green onion.

  • Chop green onion.

  • Mince garlic.

  • Roughly chop tomatoes.

  • Tear large basil leaves.

  • Heat oil in a large skillet. Add green onion, larger chard stems and sauté until tender, about 5 minutes.

  • Add the garlic, chard leaves and stir-fry over medium heat 3 minutes.

  • Add the leaves, basil and tomato. Stir and turn until the leaves wilt and it all fits into the skillet.

  • Reduce heat to low and cook until all is tender, another 5 - 6 minutes, stirring frequently.
